Ukraine War Day #510: Innocent Victims Of the Bridge Attack

Dear Readers:

One of my commenters had asked a very sensible question, why the NATO naval drones attacked the Kerch Bridge roadway instead of the railroad bridge (which latter would make a much better military target). I don’t know the answer, but I was reading a lot of commentary yesterday which contained a plausible explanation: That the drones, operating from the water below the bridge, and possessing only a limited power, would not have been able to affect the higher, and narrower, railroad section. So, they settled for what they could get to with their limited explosive force, namely, the roadway.

Moving on to this story about the only victims of the attack. The reporter is Alina Vlasenko. The victims were identified as the Kulik family from the town of Stary Oskol, in the Belgorod Oblast of Russia. They were travelling to Crimea for their summer holiday. The parents, Alexei and Natalia Kulik, were killed in the attack when their car crashed after the drone bombs blew up that section of the roadway. Natalia, 36 years old, was a schoolteacher. Her husband, Alexei, was a truck driver for the Kamaz Company. Their 14-year-old daughter (whose name is withheld) survived the crash but was seriously injured and remains hospitalized in the ICU. [yalensis: I am guessing that the little girl was sitting in the back seat.]

The Kulik family (child’s face blurred out) having fun at an ice rink.

According to this other story, the Kuliks were travelling in a convoy of two vehicles with another family, consisting of Natalia’s sister and the latter’s husband, Sergei Shestakov. Shestakov told the reporter how the related families had, for a long time, been planning a joint vacation on the Black Sea.

The two families, in their two cars, left for their vacation on July 16. Their original plan was to spend the night somewhere, then enter the Bridge in the morning. However, while driving, they heard on the radio about the situation on the Bridge: During daytime hours up to hundreds of cars could get backed up on the Taman [mainland Russian] side of the bridge. The congestion had been piling up for a couple of weeks, as security measures had been increased and all vehicles had to be searched before entering the Bridge. Based on this information, the families decided to change their plans, keep on driving, and cross the bridge at night, when the traffic was lighter.

The Kuliks’ car, like everybody else, had to pause for inspection before being allowed onto the Bridge. Meanwhile, the Shestakovs’ car had already passed inspection and inched ahead of them by about 15 vehicles. The two families communicated by cellphone and agreed they would meet up again on the Kerch side of the bridge. According to Sergei Shestakov, it was around 3:00 AM when they heard the first explosion. Immediately all the lights went out on the bridge. The Shestakovs sped forward and found a place on the side to pull over. They continued to communicate with the Kuliks by phone. However, after the second explosion the Kuliks stopped answering their phone. Sergei made a split-second decision to finish driving to Kerch, he dropped his wife off, got back on the bridge and drove the reverse route, trying to find the Kuliks. From a distance, he saw their damaged car, but the police were already there and would not let him approach. He only had a glimpse of Alexei’s body, hanging out of the car.

Putin said the Kerch Bridge has not been used for military supplies for a while. Makes sense, since they have a land route.

Not being able to kill Russian soldiers, Zelenski murders civilians. The West says that Ukraine chooses its targets ………and nobody believes it because the one who pays is the boss.
After several weeks someone in the West will boast about how the operation against the bridge was organized by the CIA.

    A Few Points:

1] This is a direct attack on Russia proper. The bridge was built by Russia with Russian labor and materials, it is directly attached to Russia, it is therefore a direct attack on Russia.

2] Any/all supply lines are military targets DURING WAR.

3] Using the same tactics of Imperial Japan on 07 Dec 1941, DC/London/Brussels [ie NATO] appears to have ATTACKED RUSSIA WITHOUT A DECLARATION OF WAR. [In fairness to Imperial Japan, they could/did argue that it did not attack intentionally prior to it’s declaration of war]. However, this argument was NOT accepted at the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal. I note in passing, the Imperial Japanese communique, had it’s delivery been timely, was not considered strongly worded enough to constitute a declaration of war by the Tribunal.

In any event, DC/London/Brussels [ie NATO] can make no such argument. DC/London/Brussels [ie NATO] have been far more diabolical than Imperial Japan in this respect, they have been prosecuting a furtive war since 2014…without declaration of war.

4] Post WW II, The Allied Powers [DC/London] in the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal citing Article 1 and 2 of the 1907 Hague Convention declared the attack on Pearl Harbor, prior to a declaration of war, a war crime. Had a state of war existed prior to the attack, the attack would have been seen as a legitimate act of war.

    =====================

Therefore, these deaths, if a constituted War Crimes Tribunal determines that DC/London/Brussels/Berlin/Krakow government officials, with foreknowledge, directed or assisted in the attack, they should be considered, not only war criminals but, murderers.

It’s been a long time since DC/London considered the legality of using military force without a declaration of war, however, the legal precedent stands, both capitals eagerly tried, convicted and hung men with lessor culpability than the crimes committed in Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Syria and most egregious of all, Ukrainia.

When was the last time U.S. ever declared war? They just do whatever they please. It’s called the “Rules-based order”, in which the U.S. makes up its own rules as it goes along.

        I agree…and thought [?] I said as much:

“It’s been a long time since DC/London considered the legality of using military force without a declaration of war, however, the legal precedent stands, both capitals eagerly tried, convicted and hung men with lessor culpability”

The Ruling-Elite don’t care, much less ask the American people, representatives are selected for their compliance by the uni-party.

Domestically we are governed without consent and foreign policy is executed without either consent or consultation. Thanks to the efforts of the Dulles-bros, the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution no longer define legal [or moral] parameters. The whims of the elites trump all law, little people must obey laws, not the ruling class.

For them it is better not to rummage through the garbage and for people to start questioning killing to steal land as something normal. That is why they seek to do what they want without stirring up the past.
There are thousands or millions of dead and more than half of the planet’s land stolen through the murder of their owners.
I remember that even Ariel Sharon, when the West complained to him about the Palestinian massacre, answered: “We do what you have always done, “kill to steal land”, that is, it is a crime that even your friends recognize.

Excellent concise description of the bombing and why the Brits chose the Kerch Bridge roadway to blow up. I’ve read long-winded speculation that didn’t come to this obvious conclusion, or any conclusion at all for that matter. Plus, Putin calling the roadway civilian only, doesn’t get around to the obvious use of the railway as a route for military supplies as well as commercial traffic (hard to tell what’s in those boxcars). All in the wording.

Changing topics slightly, I see The UN Secretary-General as a man of no morals. He blindly favours the US bullshite stories as being the honest truth. Must be something in it for him to be so blatantly dishonest. In other words, in one way or another, he’s been bought off or blackmailed. Like Sholtz, Baerbock et al of Germany, Meloni of Italy, and the world’s leading intellectual giant — Macron!, Baby.

If you’ve followed the “grain deal” all along, you will know that zero grain or fertilizer has been shipped from Russian ports in the Black Sea area. It’s all been a Ukie gig. Setting up the UN protocol for Russia to actually ship product has resulted in a year of Guterres’ delay and prevarication. That’s what Putin and co are pissed off about, and why they have (technically paused) ended the grain deal. Unless Russia gets to ship as well, no deal. So only Ukraine has benefited thus far. WTF then is the UN actually about? Apparently being a good little doggie for the US government, arf, arf, yip, yip.

Anyway, the Turkish lira has wobbled today, because Erdogan’s cut of the Ukraine grain deal, where everything was shipped to Turkey before being distributed to Portuguese pigs, a la Guterres, and other, mostly non-African places like the EU, has been stopped. Nobody is going to ship any more Ukie corn from Odessa and two other ports if Russia isn’t on board. Insurance cost and the odd drifting mine. Cunning old Recip is biting his nails having outsmarted himself yet again. Yet the line we get fed is that Africa is going to starve because of Russian intransigence. The world’s sweltering to death, harvests will be awful this year, but the US/UK/UN blame machine carries on regardless.

Guterres has always been an American pawn. It’s so frustrating that Putin wasted a year trying to do business with these hyenas. It’s like the Russian elite are still in denial, even after all this time. They know but at a deeper level they are still denying reality. Or have not completely absorbed it.
