Cyber-Berkut Hacks Herashchenko!

Dear Readers, I got a doozy for youse today!

The Hacker Collective known as “Cyber-Berkut” claims to have hacked the entire Internet architecture of the “Kiev Junta”.  By this, they mean the network of servers and routers which connect Junta sites with, on the one hand, Russian Oppositionists; and, on the other hand, with NATO and Soros and the such-like.

Main target of Cyber-Berkut is Anton Herashchenko, who is Special Advisor to Ukrainian Minister of Security Arsen Avakov.  Herashchenko’s job duties, in addition to (as claimed by Cyber-Berkut) laundering money from illegal arms sales to the Middle East; also include managing various internet sites for the Kiev government.  Including “Mirotvorec”, the hit-list site responsible for the assassinations of regime opponents.

Technical Documentation is Very Important

At least, that’s what my boss says.

In above piece, Cyber-Berkut includes a link; if you click on it, it will open up a .RTF file which is a complete technical documentation of their hacking job.  All respectable hackers document their work.  Because people will be skeptical and the hacked people will deny that the “compromat” is authentic.  Therefore it behooves the hacker to prove beyond a doubt that the content is authentic.  This is usually done by providing the keys and codes and so forth.

Like all I.T. professionals, hackers need to document their work.

Cyber-Berkut goes on to say, that the volume of material is so great, that it will take them a long time to process it.  In the meantime, they are just presenting headline summaries of some juicy stuff; and also, meanwhile the Russian press is focusing on the bits more of interest to Russia, namely the odious Herashchenko’s ties with noted Oppositionists such as Alexei Navalny.

Anti-Corruption Fund at the Top

Ruslan Leviev is satisfied with the services offered by his Internet Provider.

The first graphic in the linked piece shows the site of the Anti-Corruption Fund («Фонд борьбы с коррупцией») which is run jointly by Alexei Navalny and Georgiy Alburov.  Apparently, if you ping through the various routers, Navalny’s site ultimately connects to a NATO server somewhere.  Other Russian Oppositionists who are part of this network include Elena (“Russian soldiers break their own legs”) Vasilieva and blogger Ruslan Leviev, who runs a blog called “LostIvan” (about Russian soldiers killed in action while supposedly invading Donbass).

According to Cyber-Berkut:

“Vasilieva leaks information to Herashchenko about Russian citizens, sending it to one of his [email] post-boxes lyst2sbu, which is also where the Mirotvorec project resides.  Hacks of the emails therein show that all the info provided by Vasilieva is then forwarded to the Ukrainian Secret Services (SBU).”

The other major lede from this, is that Herashchenko’s various websites are heavily integrated with the network of NATO servers.  In particular, “Mirotvorec” is hosted by the server “NATO.int”.

This comes as a complete shock and surprise to us all.
