Ukraine War Day #584: How The Truce Was Broken – Part IV

Dear Readers:

Today concluding this story. Which is ostensibly about Father Sheptytsky, but more like a delve into the curious snake pit that is Canadian politics. Of which I have learned a thing or two, thanks to my readers. Recall that my original source material is this piece, which claims a “special bond” between Canadian Jewish and Ukrainian communities. Brothers forever, thanks to figures like Father Sheptytsky.

Once again re-stating my main thesis. Readers may agree, or disagree with me, as they please; it’s only a theory, but it makes sense to me:

“These things must be done very slowly and delicately…”

I believe that there was a concerted plan among NATO leaders/Five Eyes, whatever you want to calling the ruling juntas of these nations which fought as Allies against Germany in the Second World War. The conspirators include Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland, along with others, from many different Western nations. The plan was to turn on its head, and rewrite, the results of the war. Switching roles as to who were the Good Guys and the Bad Guys. Namely, Hitler and Naughties now being the good guys; and Evil Communist Soviet Union the baddies. If they were to succeed in this plan, then the UN as presently constructed, would have to be abolished. Already there are calls for Russia to be banished from the UN Security Council. A slot it grandfathered into by being the successor state to the main Victor of the war.

I believe that this scheme was hatched long ago, probably within just a couple of years after the end of the war.

It goes without saying that such a mad scheme would require time (=decades) and a very methodical approach. Opening Overton’s window one crack at a time, in this 5-Step approach:

Step #1: Paint the enemies of the Soviet Union as freedom-fighting partisans who fought for “democracy” and opposed both sets of totalitarianisms. (Stepan Banderas as a democracy-loving “Moderate Rebel” who fought against the Soviets on Mondays Wednesdays Fridays; and against the Nazis on Tuesdays Thursdays Saturdays.)

Step #2: Blur the distinctions between the sides by claiming a certain moral relativism. Holocaust = Holodomor. Both Soviets and Nazis did terrible things.

Step #3: Start to normalize Nazi ideology and symbology. Start to hail Nazis as heroes, but be somewhat careful not to go too far too soon.

Step #4: Continue the normalization process, build the statues and monuments to Nazis, all the while keeping a finger on the pulse, see if anybody reacts to the news that the Nazis were the good guys.

Step #5: Crickets! yay – so might as well just go for it. Toss aside all the masks, tear away all of the seven veils. Hitler and SS were the good guys, so now the process is complete.

Using Sheptytsky’s Image To Unite Irreconcilables

In our source material, we saw Canadian Jewish leaders shamefully (and cowardly) going along with this nonsense, all the way through Steps 3 or even 4. They certainly condoned Step #2 including all the Holodomor nonsense. If you scroll down to page 14 of the source material, you will see the speech of the “Honorable Jason Kenney” given at the 2012 banquet. In which he uttered these deceptive and duplicitous words: “Canada was one of the first countries in the world to recognize the genocidal nature of the Holodomor famine-genocide. It was one of my greatest privileges to be involved in the official recognition of that historical reality. And it is Canada today which is leading the world in combatting both the old and new manifestations of anti-Semitism and ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten.”

Did you see what he did there? He just whitewashed Ukrainian fascism in a clever word-salad that equated the Ukrainian famine (which was just a famine, not a genocide) with an actual genocide. And implied that Stalin’s Holodomor was one of the “old” manifestations of anti-Semitism. And mixed together, as in a salad, the victims and the perpetrators. Going even further, and remember that he uttered these extremely deceptive words in the presence of the leaders of the Canadian Jewish community. Who just sat there scarfing down their gefilte fish and saying nothing. If any of them had any guts, they would have leaped up, turned over the table like Kim Kardashian at a Wedding Rehearsal, screaming at the top of their lungs: “I object!” Or, if they were French: “J’accuse!”

This Rogues Banquet also included such figures as Ukraine’s Nazi ex-President Viktor Yushchenko. Under whose Presidency, Ukraine accelerated the process of normalizing Bandera. holding those cute neo-Naughty torchlight parades, while banning the Russian language.

Kenney again: In November of 2008, I visited Kyiv to attend the 75th Anniversary commemorations of the Holodomor famine-genocide. Quite fittingly, I went to Babyn Yar, where I looked down at that ravine of death which today lives as a scar on the memory of the people of Ukraine. This brought to mind what really became concrete for me in reading Timothy Snyder’s brilliant history Bloodlands, that there is a connection between the famine of 1933 and the massacre of 1941; a complicated, multi-faceted, often tragic linkage between those terrible crimes.

Yeah, right. The only connection between those events is that Ukrainian Nationalists used the famine to work people up against the Jews. While also slaughtering Polish civilians, who had nothing to do with either.

Kenney again: For the present, critics are still quick to blame Ukrainians, including their Church leaders, for welcoming the German Army in 1941. But it is essential to remember the context of Ukraine in 1941. Of course the Germans were initially seen by many as liberators from the domination of the Soviet Communist tyranny, which had tortured and murdered literally millions of Ukrainians in the terror-famine, and held tens of thousands in its jails and gulags.

This is where Step #2 starts blurring into Step #3: And then Kenney ends by writing a government check for $370,000 to the so-called “Ukrainian Jewish Encounter”, while everybody applauds. Money! Hoorah! And the fix is in. Using the image of Father Sheptytsky, the Ukrainian Nazi community of Canada just succeeded in “normalizing” itself as Friends of the Jews. And Jewish leaders and Rabbis just sat there and pretended to go along with this bullshit. The political pact being, as I said before: “We’ll pretend to believe in your b.s. Holodomor, and you’ll pretend to shed tears that our families were massacred by your families.”

Under this “new normal”, both ethnic communities were urged to unite as one against the Russians. The Russians are guilty, are responsible for everything: The famine, the Holocaust, the war itself. It is just one step from there to the full overturning of History and reversing the results of World War II. Will Jewish leaders actually go along with this, will they endorse Hitler/Bandera as the Good Guys? That’s the big question.

Trudeau: “I did Nazi that one coming!”

And then a few years went by, some stuff happened, and Yaroslav Hunka received a standing ovation in the Canadian House of Commons. And the question was answered. Canada’s Jewish leaders may be a timid and cowardly lot. But there are others in the world who decided they just couldn’t stomach what they saw on that day. That day that had been planned out very carefully in advance, planned for a very long time. But a certain little boy pointed and said, “The Emperor is not wearing any clothes. Look, I can see his naked bottom. With a swastika tattoo!”

There is so much more, and I urge people to read the linked piece in full. Granted that it concerns events (in particular, a banquet) that took place in 2012, two years before Maidan. But everything in there lays out exactly what is to happen next. In this process which resembles some kind of manic pre-programmed and highly destructive machine, that just rolls along and cannot be stopped.

In the words of Father Sheptytsky himself: “I am extremely upset that an innocent and upright man has been caught in a net of his own making.”

[THE END]

This is carrying conspiracy theories a bit far. All the heads of Govt, over years, is pretty unlikely. If those idiots were in a boat you”d never get them all to row in the same direction.

Some people in Canada, the UK and the USA, quite likely. Freeland in Canada, Nuland and her cohort in the USA, UK??.

BTW, Kenny in his Ottawa days would appeal to any ethnic group that did not support Israel. He did wonders for the conservatives in some groups, severely weakening Liberal support.

Here he is addressing the Mujahedin-e-Khalq which was on Canada’s terrorist list at the time.

I think you concluded this series very well. I agree that there’s a plan to change WW2 history. However, I think it’s a fairly new plan, or rather a new twist in the McCarthyists/hawks/neocons’ eternal attempt to eliminate Russia as a state. Just like with climate change, LGBT, Covid etc. word has been passed down that the official storyline of WW2 now is that Russia was/is even more Nazi than Germany was back then. This is no more conspiracy theory than saying that “Ukraine is winning, Russia is done” is a concerted fabricated narrative.

I think it will work in the West. Most people who participated or even remember WW2 are dead. And most people over 50 still believe that MSM is generally truthful. At the same time Western schools have replaced history lessons with social studies and gay propaganda. So the Tik-Tok generation will swallow anything that’s fed them through their phones.

This is a very important point, wait until all the 1st hand witnesses are dead, then begin the long 3LA-dricted rewrite.

It’s interesting to watch extremely wealthy/powerful Jewish families sit quietly throughout this Nazi-rehabilitation. Is it because they’re now 3-4 generations away from Europe…dunno hard to fathom, back to my high-school days their loyalty to Israel was/is[?] absolute…whatever Israel did was justified by association with the Holocaust.

One would think that while supporting Nazis in Ukrainia profits Israel in the short term, isn’t the long term consequence a weakening of Israel’s moral position? Or, has Israel gained so much strength it can shed the Holocaust justifications as it morphs into powerful nation that no longer needs to cloak it’s imperial designs on the region?

To that end, is/are Israel/US-Jews more concerned with Russia in Syria and potentially Lebanon than all that Nazi stuff, particularly since Nazism has surgically excised antisemitism from it’s creed?

Which brings me back to “Never-Again” having become an ethno-exclusive battle cry rather than a demand for justice and reform.

This may sound harsh, but I for one don’t believe that Israel even has a moral position. Not after the way they have treated the Palestinians.
And yes, their national interests ally against states like Syria, which brings them into conflict against Russia. Also, they are American puppets, which also pits them against America’s enemies. Which explains Israel’s basically pro-Ukrainian stance, and why they shut their eyes to the Ukrainian Nazis. Newer rivalries eclipse older beefs, isn’t that always the way with Realpolitik?

Which is what I meant to imply with; “since Nazism has surgically excised antisemitism”.

But even in “realpolitik” the perception of morality matters.

Recall that the SMO’s moral underpinning is that Russia tried to stop DC/London’s-NATO-assisted slaughter of civilians who were ethno/cultural-Russian through negotiation, [in which DC/London openly acknowledge their duplicity], then by repeated threat and then and only then…by war.

In the eyes of more than half the world, Russia’s behavior was not only justified morally, it was their only honorable option. These things matter, they carry weight and greatly encumber the 3LAs ability to BS their way through yet another slaughter of innocent civilians…that and they’re having their asses kicked…in yet another one of their failed neocolonialist “escapades”.

Yalensis, I basically agree with your thesis. Projection and reversal of reality have been basic MO moves for US intel since even before the end of WW II, and these strategies were used for centuries by the British Empire, so you might want to move your starting point back at least a few years. Mussolini was being widely praised even in the 1920s by influential people in the English-speaking world, and even Hitler was being praised in public during the 1930s, especially by British upper-class types and US bankers and investors. And in March 1940, the UK and France began developing Operation Pike, a secret plan to bomb the Baku oilfields and thus destroy the whole Soviet economy, which depended on oil for its factories and mechanized agriculture. This plan ended only when France was invaded by the Nazis in 1941. I’ve read that in ruling circles in the UK before Dunkirk, many leaders wanted the UK to cooperate with Nazi Germany in order to wipe out the commies and the whole Soviet Union. Meanwhile, the head of the Manhattan A-bomb Project in the US is said to have told scientists there that the A-bomb was intended mainly for use against the USSR after Japan surrendered — a confession leading to the leaking of details about the bomb to Russian spies by scientists worried about WW III happening if only one country had the bomb. And shortly after the end of WW II US military strategists drew up at least two plans for dropping about 300 A-bombs on the USSR if it “threatened” Europe (see Wiki). Luckily these plans were shelved after the USSR developed its own A-bomb. And even before VE Day, Churchill was pushing Operation Unthinkable, which would combine “Allied” forces with captured Wehrmacht troops and launch an attack on Russian forces in Germany and Poland. The plan was called off, however, since reality-based advisors opposed the plan, not because it was perfidious treachery against an ally but because the Red Army was simply too strong. Nevertheless, the US began collecting and directing anti-commie Quisling terrorists from western Ukraine and from other Eastern European countries in 1944 for use against the USSR as soon as WW II ended. For the ruling classes in the “West,” the alliance with the USSR during WW II was simply a temporary marriage of convenience, so techniques of imagery- reversal were already in place even before WW II began.

I came across the following discussion/interview by Canadian foreign-policy activists:

I learned several things from it, including the fact that the Canadian PM during WW II visited Hitler, whom he admired, before the war. I didn’t realize Canada had its own tradition of fascist-leader adoration. I also learned that the pre-WW II immigrants from Ukraine to Canada included many communists and other leftists, and that at the end of the war the Canadian government was very eager to “dilute” the strength of these older immigrants with genuine, hard-boiled anti-commie Ukrainians. The Canadian government played an active part in this process. It was not simply forced to take thousands of Ukrainian fascists. I need to study more about Canadian history….

Also confirms everything I always intuited, that the USSR was never really meant to survive, if they didn’t have nukes and a huge army.

You have really given the reader a lot to think about yalensis in this topic with four parts. I like your conclusions and the humour and the excellent comments.
I’d never heard of this Father Sheptytsky character, but now I can even spell his name. Maybe the story of his saintworthyness is true, but there is something rather ominous in this story. From wiki:
“ He was active in promoting the revival and expansion of the Eastern Catholic Churches in the territory of the Russian Empire”.
    and
“ The Ruthenian Uniate Church has been suppressed in the Soviet Union from 1946”.
Now I wasn’t aware of this but the Eastern Catholic Church actually is under the jurisdiction of the Holy See. Can you see where this is all heading? This “Uniate” Church of Ukraine isn’t Orthodox at all! It’s a complete “breakaway” to Catholicism!
And Canadian Jews (let’s call them Straussians) and their Catholic co-conspirators are leveraging the bad press around “Hitler’s pope” Pope PiousXII (credit: John Cornwall) to officiate this transition.
Dare I say that only a Canadian could see this chumminess in a positive light?
The fear of being labeled anti-Semitic is very ingrained in the Canadian personality, it seems. The educated Canadian is so polite, kind and reasonable. The truckers are oafish ruffians who brandish swastikas, Donald Trump and populism are very dangerous, LGBTQ+++and other minorities’ human rights must be privileged because…., and if you don’t get thoroughly vaccinated you are a threat to society.
Everything is hunky dory until it gets contentious. Then you get the well reasoned brick wall.
The cognitive dissonance fallout of these deliberate sleights of minds takes a massive P.R. effort to manage, and hitherto Canada has been a western “success” in this endeavour, but Hunka-gate shows that with this one the creakles have lost the plot. It’s gonna take alot of cancelling ( starting with your link yalensis).
I’ve given up all hope for 5 eyes Australia, but we are not yet in the Canada league.
Your comment about MEK is apropos, yalensis. The whole of body of western liberalism is now cult-like. It’s deliberate.

Thanks, Australian Lady, you make so many good points in just one comment. I like the phrase “sleight of hand”, that’s exactly the concept I was looking for to describe the deceptive 3-card monte type games that these rulers play on our minds. It’s like, “Look over there!” “Squirrel!” “ooh, I just did something clever that you didn’t notice…” And these games have gone on and on, for generations.

When the deception and sleight-of-hand stops working (or works less effectively than before), then the elites come up with bigger ways to shock society into submission. Like I said before, I am a foreigner to Canadian politics, and I risk treading into waters here… I don’t even want to mention the C-word (hint: plague); but I get the feeling that the whole Trucker thing is Canada’s own (American) January 6. What should have been a simple labor dispute was used as a way to traumatize the mainstream public. Big shock, and then big reaction, the goal being to spread trauma and paralyze people’s thinking. It’s only when people are scared and traumatized that they can be tricked into believing insane things, like “Zelensky didn’t know that Hunka was Galician SS.” Why would anyone believe such a crazy denial? Because … Truckers! Or Trump! or LGBT! or whatever…
First you inculcate people with deeply found beliefs that define their core personality (We are Canadians, we are nice people, we are tolerant, we are polite… etc.) And then you throw something at them that brings all of that into question. And then you offer them a way to square the circle and go back to their original way of thinking. But the price they pay (for this deceptive peace of mind) is to give up half their brains!

Kotkin, in the second volume of his Stalin biography, puts paid to the Ukrainian myth of the holodomyr. There was a Soviet famine in the USSR in the early 1930s. Some Ukrainians starved. But Stephen Kotkin documents that larger fractions of populations in Siberia and Khazakstan died in that famine than in Ukraine. There was no “Ukrainian famine”. It is another myth, another lie, perpetrated by Ukrainian nationalists. There was indeed a terrible Soviet famine and, in it, Ukraine suffered less than a lot of the rest of the Union.

Good points. Plus: The Galicians didn’t go hungry at all, and they weren’t even part of the Soviet Union at the time; although they later went on to become the biggest promoters of the Holodomor propaganda. As in “We starved [no you didn’t], it was all the fault of the Bolshevik Jews [you weren’t even Soviets at the time], and that’s why we decided to get even…”

Also, recent historians have shown that the USSR famine, albeit real, was not entirely the fault of the Soviet government. The government was just in a tough place and needed foreign currency, they had been blocked and sanctioned from selling oil, so they requisitioned and sold grain. Like most famines, this was a mostly “androgenic” one (human blunders, coupled with natural processes like drought), but it was not directed against any particular ethnic group. If anything, there was a class bias, with some uncaring bureaucratic attitudes about kulaks and peasants in general.

My regular readers know that I am not a Stalin fan, but even I don’t put this one on him.

Furr has done some useful debunking of several lies including also raising some important issues about Katyn. He proved, for starters, using forensic evidence, that not all of the Polish policemen who were killed, should be attributed to the NKVD.

I don’t make up my opinions based on “unsubstantiated slurs”, but on factual historical pieces, so you don’t need to worry about that, Kered.

Where I diverge from Furr is with his own “unsubstantiated slurs” against Old Bolsheviks like Bukharin, Kamenev, Zinoviev; and also against Trotsky, of course. If you follow your own advice, then you should read all of the primary works, including those of Trotsky, and not be guided by ignorant Stalinist slanders about these men. I also recommend getting up to speed on Stalin’s egregious (along with his henchpersons like Yagoda, Yezhov and Beria), torture and slander of honest men, not just the Old Bolsheviks, but also patriots like Generals Tukhachevsky and Uborevich. Read all of this information, do the research, and then come back, and we can discuss your unquestioning hero-worship of Stalin, and what I can guess is your condoning of his brutal Office Politics approach to the workplace.

P.S. I also recommend Lenin’s Last Will and Testament. The only time Lenin ever delved into public display of employee evaluation, was his recommendation to “Remove Comrade Stalin from his post as General-Secretary.” Dying as he was, Lenin realized what a terrible mistake he had made, to blink his eye for one second and allow a criminal sociopath like Stalin to acquire so much power within the Party…

A few years ago, about 2017 or 2018, around VE Day a presenter (Nick Robinson, I think) on BBC Radio 4’s flagship morning show Today (“voted the most influential news programme in Britain in setting the political agenda”) chuckled fondly over a silly slip he’d made: of course “we” (the UK) had not won the Second World War single-handedly! The country had done so with ‘a little help’ from the USA. He laughed.
It may have been idiotic, offensively inaccurate rubbish at the level of Holocaust denial (for every US soldier who died in WWII, 80 Soviet ones died, along with 15-17 million civilians) but it was a useful signposting of the direction of travel to our zeitgeist. How natural or curated – a conspiracy – is the Zeitgeist these days, that’s another thing. My point is only that this has been brewing for a while.

The main problem which the IDF must resolve in our invasion and conquest of Hamas regime change strategy, the huge civilian populations of Gaza.
The IDF, it seems to me, should island hop, much like America did in the Pacific War against Japan. Israel needs to organize a sealed off trench warfare, something akin to WWI battle tactics. Only in the case of Gaza, Israel must encircle and isolate designated areas to harvest Gaza civilian populations. Israel must feed and protect these sealed-off “captured” Gaza prisoner of war zones.

Such a strategic policy conducted toward Gazan civilian populations serves to separate armed hostile terrorists from unarmed passive Gazans. Captured males, capable of serving as soldiers separated from populations of women with children and the old. Segregating civilian from military capable populations, clearly the first step in the long regime change war confronting the Jewish state in the days and weeks ahead.

Jerusalem emphatically must reject foreign aid or intervention in this local border conflict. The horror of the international involvement in the Russian/Ukraine war a clear flag of warning. Israel outright rejects European involvement or any foreign intervention what so ever. This Gaza regime change war, pits Israel’s fight against the multiple Arab factions in Gaza, E. Jerusalem, and Samaria. Israel must reject any and all foreign international aid or power plays to dominate Israeli and Gazan interstate self-determination.

Repatriating dhimmi Arab refugee populations to Gaza. Permitting the Gazan City-State to give citizenship to these dhimmi Arab refugee populations the Primary objective of regime change strategies in Gaza. Integrating the Independent nation of Gaza into the Arab community of the Middle East a key foreign policy objective of the Jewish state during this Gaza/Israel war.

Land for peace. Twice Israel has returned the Sinai back to Egypt in the name of land for peace. The patriotization of dhimmi Arab refugees from E. Jerusalem, Samaria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria to Gazan national self-determination and Independence, a prime regime change strategy of the Jewish state in this Gaza/Israel war. Gaza, Israel and Egypt can work together to expand the borders of Gaza into the Sinai to accommodate dhimmi Arabs who move to Gaza and cease existing as despised refugee populations, a people without a country of their own.

(New York Jewish Week) — Congregants lined up in the morning cold outside the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue in the Upper West Side as the dawn broke Tuesday. Many of them held signs in support of Israel as well as supplies for the long day ahead as they boarded a large tour bus headed for Washington, D.C.. “This is an important act of unity and solidarity,” Rabbi Dalia Samansky told the passengers as the bus slowly made its way toward the March for Israel rally at the National Mall, as tens of thousands of other Jews from around the country headed toward the event.

A liberal Jewish cantor, Daniel Singer, then played a rendition of “Tefilat haderech,” or “A prayer for the road,” on an acoustic guitar. The congregants said they were inspired to make the long, trafficky trip to the rally to support the hostages held by Hamas, publicly back Israel, and take a stand against antisemitism as anti-Jewish discrimination surges in New York and elsewhere amid the fallout from the war. After event organizers announced a historic turnout of nearly 300,000 people at the rally, the participants said the event had bolstered their spirits and made a powerful statement in support of Jewish solidarity and Israel’s cause.

The group of marchers included amazingly, even some Stephen Wise Reform Jewish synagogue members, who occasionally even attend public services. The contingent ranged in age from high schoolers to the elderly. But also included several family groups. Reported that lady “Rabbi”, Ammiel Hirsch, of Stephen Wise Reform said: “I’m joining because I see the scary rise of antisemitism and I’ve been talking to people, and it’s just heartbreaking.” Despite the fact that Liberal Judaism has a long tradition of disgrace which actually encourages Jewish assimilation and intermarriage. And has an anti-Israel platform that more closely resembles to that of Neturei Karta.

Assimilated Reform, Maxine Albert, now sings a different tune: “People are telling me that they’re not wearing anything that identifies them as Jewish.” “It scares me and I want to stand up,” she added. Ms “rabbi” Rabbi Samansky said the rally came as many congregants felt increasing pressure over their support for Israel, as many activists clamor for Israel to accept a ceasefire with Hamas and the memory of the terror group’s Oct. 7 atrocities fade from the public discourse. Many of the congregants also felt isolated and abandoned by their former allies on the left due to the lack of a condemnation for antisemitism, Samansky added.

“A lot of our congregants are really struggling with their own place in the world, their own place in the social justice world that they have believed and been a part of for so long, while also dealing with their fear of being Jewish right now,” she said. “More and more congregants are saying, ‘Should I wear my star? Should I have my mezuzah be so prominent?’” “It’s so important to be at this [rally] to say we have a right to be Jewish, we have a right to be proud to be Jewish, we have a right to support Israel, and Israel has a right to be proud and to defend itself,” she said.

Several congregants said that the defaced and ripped up hostage posters around New York City were a reminder of the hostility around them, and some compared the tense atmosphere in the city to the rising antisemitism in prewar Europe. A number of attendees also cited the hostile atmosphere on college campuses as a worrying harbinger for the future. “When I was growing up, it was [shortly] after the Holocaust, so antisemitism wasn’t considered to be mainstream. It had to be hidden,” said Joyce Goldwyn-Spencer. Now, she said, “so much time has passed and they have the excuse of using Israel, blaming Israel.” “I think there is a sense of awakening,” said congregant Debra Warren, saying some U.S. Jews had become aware of “the Jew hatred that’s probably been simmering under the surface that’s now bubbled above the surface.”

Alas, these Reform Liberal Judaism “rabbis”, fail to connect the dots between Jewish assimilation and intermarriage – to the return of mass Jewish antisemitism. The Reform platform which promotes “Social Justice”, but dismally fails to warn the Jewish people that assimilation and intermarriage violates the 2nd Sinai commandment. Jewish worship of avoda zarah, the Prime First Cause of antisemitism in the world today.

The congregants firmly backed Israel’s need to defeat Hamas while mourning the Palestinian victims. But continue to blame Jerusalem, (Not in our Name, sorry excuse) for the toxic Dhimmi/Jewish discourse surrounding the conflict. The ignorance of the Israeli government for its lack of nuance, refusal to surrender and transform the 6 Day ’67 War into a national defeat before victorious Arab armies, (according to the words of Nasser). The poor understanding of radical right-wing Government over “complex issues” at play. The Liberal Jewish demand to divide both Israel and Jerusalem into two separate states and make a forced population transfer of Jewish settler populations living in Samaria.

After the five-hour drive, the Reform synagogue’s bus pulled into a parking lot at FedEx Field in North Englewood, Maryland, some nine miles east of the National Mall. The congregants spilled onto the asphalt to join throngs of other Jews and allies; the Stephen Wise group mostly broke apart as they mixed in with the thousands who made their way to the rally via shuttle, subway, taxi and on foot.

The masses in attendance at the rally included secular Jews and non-Jews, Haredim, school groups in matching shirts and Israelis navigating the crowds in Hebrew. Youths from the Chabad movement manned a tent, putting tefillin on passersby and handing out yellow balloons to high schoolers as young men wearing kippot danced in a circle nearby. Many in the crowd, framed on the lawn between the White House and the Washington Monument, carried U.S. and Israeli flags and photos of hostages.

The crowd fell silent as families of the captives spoke, with some in the audience breaking into tears. The crowd size — likely the largest Jewish gathering in U.S. history — was a powerful message for the congregation. Several assimilated Reform congregants said the support from public officials and non-Jews inspired confidence, despite the growing antisemitism plague. “I never thought that we would need to do this [protest] but the time is now so I’m glad to be there,” said Reform congregant Michael Sherman, adding that he was cheered by “Jews putting arms around each other, helping each other — secular, Orthodox.”

On the way back to the parking lot, young Israelis and Haredim alighted on the subway together as a group of high schoolers sang. The Stephen Wise delegation boarded the bus back to New York, and the cantor, Singer, played “Oseh Shalom” as two teenagers passed out bags of chocolate chip cookies to the weary congregants. “This isn’t 1939. We’re not going to stay silent in the face of antisemitism. We are going to stand up, we are going to protect ourselves and be proud of who we are,” Samansky said. “We’re determined to continue speaking out and being present and reminding the world that we are here and we have the right to be here.” The complete and utter silence over the disaster of Jewish assimilation and intermarriage – the elephant in the china closet – totally ignored.
